Gnome Shell是Linux环境下的一个视窗化用户界面。Fedora是一个版本的Linux，它缺省使用Gnome Shell作为自己的用户界面。但Ubuntu的缺省安装界面是Unity，和Gnomoe有许多相似的地方，只是没有全盘照搬。它允许用户在安装Unity以后再根据自己的喜好选择其它用户界面。
