Nederlandse Hoger Onderwijs Termen in het Nederlands: Master (M.) [Nederlands] = Master (M.) [Engels]; Since the University Education Act (WWO) of 1986, holders of the 'doctoraal' degree may use the title of 'Master' in international contexts. This is abbreviated to 'M' and written after the name, and may be followed by letters indicating the field of study.
MA betekent Master of Arts. Zo is er ook uiteraard ook een BA (Bachelor of Arts).
