Discussion

Itzik Greenvald Mivtach Jan 23, 2014:
let's agree to disagree and continue amicably :) Shabbat Shalom dear mamel..
Sergio Kot Jan 23, 2014:
Precisely Indeed, the asker's input is crucial. Granted, you're right as far as the "official" term goes. Still, have you ever noticed the way countless Israeli road signs are translated, despite the fact that it's done by a large organization? In other words, not always the "official" term is quite the appropiate one. I guess it is up to the asker to decide what suits her/him best.
Itzik Greenvald Mivtach Jan 23, 2014:
perhaps you are right without the asker's input we can never be sure. I also wanted to say that the word Compliance is the most important part here but you beat me to it - as far as my experience goes - and backed by many relevant documents, compliance is defined in Israel as TZIUT (see KTZIN TZIUT for instance, here: http://www.haaretz.co.il/misc/1.765824).
The term is also common in many government-related links
Sergio Kot Jan 23, 2014:
Indeed Following your line of thought, wouldn't you say that this might be a company in itself rather than a department within a company? Furthermore, this issue is irrelevant to the question whether TZIUT or עמידה/תאימות are appropiate here.
Itzik Greenvald Mivtach Jan 23, 2014:
I believe that the fact that it is capitalized suggest this is more than simply a demand to comply with but rather an internal team/dept./code of conduct of some sort. There is no need to capitalize the term unless it is something's name
Sergio Kot Jan 23, 2014:
Itzik: Comments appreciated There is nothing in the source text which indicates that this is a team/dept. within the company. Maybe bbt-ruth can clarify this issue. "TZIUT" is a rather strong term, more suitable for military or para-military organizations. The fact stands that none of the 3 other answerers opted for that term.
Itzik Greenvald Mivtach Jan 23, 2014:
please note two important things 1- I strongly believe that this is a team/department within the company; therefor you cannot translate the term by itself
2- compliance in Hebrew is ZIUT , search also for Compliance Office (KZIN ZIUT) and you will see it
