I also encountered this term in one of my recent translations and none of the English>Hindi dictionaries contain this word. However, keeping in view its meaning i.e. The atmosphere and outer space considered as a whole, I translated it as above. Please check whether this fits in your context.

Can we coin the tem "Vatantariksha"?
Rightly said by langclinic that the term encompasses the earth's atmosphere as well as the space beyond. Also the name of that branch of sciences.

Thanks Mr. Arun Singh. The Sanskrit term is "Aasamant" which is used in the same sense in Marathi. Pity we lost it in Hindi.

: I agree that some Sanskrit words are used with different meaning in Hindi as well as in Marathi :-) viz. Maharaj in Hindi is cook. So sad.

'vatantriksh' is most appropriate
The word 'prodyogiki' means 'technology' which is totally out of place. 'viman nirman/ sanchalan' are even farther. vat-means AIR and antariksh - means SPACE.

Threfore vatantriksh is most appropriate. However, the word 'aerospace' is better understood as transliterated.
