Secondo me si parla di un adesivo posto sul retro, con la parte appiccicosa rivolta verso il retro (della struttura) e non verso l'installatore.

: Sorry again Paola. The "backing" is the little piece of paper that protects the adhesive strip and prevents it from sticking to everything.
