My wife is from Barbados and is schocked when I call blacks negros. (in Latvian) Nothing wrong with it in Latvian.
In my suggestions there is no mention of negros. Instead the first sample talks about the colour of skin and the second of black and white race. Both are neutral.

: The colour of skin has to be mentioned (I am used to this thing in the UK where I am "white other" opposite to "white British" and "White Itish") as it obviously is important. Just mentioning the colour of the skin is not going to be unethical or wrong.

Especially in the Caribbean when you realise that the only other white on the street is a stone throw away.
