Neste contexto, penso que se utiliza mais o termo "condutor". P.f. ver link.
A tradução de "underlying" por subjacente, que seria a tradução literal, não me parece adequada aqui, sendo o termo"integrado" mais comum nestas áreas da engenharia/eletrónica.
