around pg 29,
"glavni pretres" would be analogue to US format of grand jury (every adult is by constitution entitled to) , and adjudicary would be closer to preliminary. How so?
Bringing minors before grand jury is as much crime of compromising child's privacy as much mean of bringing justice. So in case of minors and the needy, the judge has arbitrary clearing as well as regularity of evidence checking.

Nije isto transponovati procese različitih sistema i mehanički prevoditi reč po reč.

glavna rasprava
1) radnje izvršenja;
2) vrsta, težina i učestalost;
3) posledice koje maloletno lice trpi i njihov uticaj na dalji psihofizički razvoj;
4) psihološki status maloletnog lica, roditelja i člana porodice ako drugi član porodice vrši nasilje;
5) socijalni i ekonomski uslovi u kojima maloletno lice živi;
6) potrebe maloletnog lica na emotivnom, vaspitnom i obrazovnom planu, odnosno da li drugi roditelj ili član porodice može da ih zadovolji;

: "whether the child protective services (CPS) agency can prove the allegations" sounds more like a criminal matter // your ref. [a very good one, BTW] uses both "glavna rasprava" and "glavni pretres" - not obvious which one is more suited for this ST!

I think it's the nearest you can get;
Adjudicatory Hearing Law and Legal Definition
An adjudicatory hearing is a hearing in which the purpose is making a judicial ruling such as a judgment or decree. It is sometimes used in juvenile criminal cases as another term for a trial. At such an adjudicatory hearing, the judge determines whether the facts as stated in the petition or warrant are true.

Child Protective Services
Child Protective Services (CPS) is the name of a governmental agency in many states of the United States responsible for providing child protection, which includes responding to reports of child abuse or neglect. Some states use other names, often attempting to reflect more family-centered (as opposed to child-centered) practices, such as "Department of Children & Family Services" (DCFS). CPS is also known by the name of "Department of Social Services" (DSS) or simply "Social Services."

if you compare with the meaning of "adjudicated matter", it stands to reason that an "adjudication hearing" is the one where the substantial questions are decided.

you are free to be "prone" to whatever you want, the key point is finding the info relevant to the specific ST (and also not to forget a minor detail: to interpret it correctly ...)

Discussion
U porodičnom pravu, tom "step one" sudiji je oblast delovanja proširena, pa je on nosilac "single step" procedure, za razliku od standardnih "step one =preliminary,; step two = grand / main hearing and just closure"
Namely, although this is family law, not criminal or civil matters, "Adjudication hearing" is still the stage where substantial questions are decided.
If you compare with the meaning of "to adjudicate" it also makes sense - and the Serbian law uses the same terms главни претрес / главна расправа in comparable situations.
