French term

Contrainte de dématérialisation fiscale maintenue en central

French to English Marketing Computers: Software e-invoicing
Hi All!

This is related to a question I asked a few hours ago (Dématérialisation fiscale de factures) and I'm stuck again. My expression appears in a list of Avantages Techniques, as follows:

· Pas d’investissement en usage standard
· Bénéfices immédiats des mises à jour
· **Contrainte de dématérialisation fiscale maintenue en central**
· Un simple connecteur pour l’ensemble des flux de factures clients/fournisseurs

Even if I was sure of the "dématérialisation fiscale" part, I can't make sense of the rest.

Over to you then if that's ok - I've had it!

Discussion

Clare Macnamara (asker) Mar 30, 2006:
Just for the record, I left out the "contrainte" bit and, since they were talking about e-billing all the time, simply said "tax compliance is a key factor", i.e. no need to worry about inspections or the like, we make sure all the officially required data are there.
Clare Macnamara (asker) Mar 30, 2006:
Hi Icetrance! In fact I eventually managed to get in contact with the client (mainly due to Marc's misgivings about "en central") and have the solution: your first guess was right, although I had originally thought of the "centrally maintained" idea. Thanks for all your input, worth far more than the max of 4 points!
MatthewLaSon Mar 30, 2006:
contrainte means "obligation"

You'd have something on the lines of:

obligation to centrally-maintained tax-compliant electronic invoicing (e-invoicing, pour faire tout court!!!!). WOW!!! LONG!
MatthewLaSon Mar 30, 2006:
centrally-maintained tax-compliant e-invoicing. WOW!!!!

*maintenue en central* means "centrally maintained". Used in IT all the time.
Not sure of its exact meaning, but it means something like "to keep data controlled centrally"(computer system).
MatthewLaSon Mar 29, 2006:
restriction on tax/fiscal dematerialization (is) upheld as crucial/key

That's my understanding, but I'm not saying this with any degree of certainty

*maintenu en central* means to "upheld as crucial or key" (necessary)

"central" means "essential" in this context.

neutral Marc Glinert : you may be right icetrance, but I have never heard "en central" used in such a way
