See here, Dylan: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-wheel_drive. It says "front axle coupling" and I suspect that "καπλικ" is a very poor transliteration of "coupling".

Searching for English terms, I've found 'axle crosspiece' and 'axle coupling'.

Not really my field either... A colleague found something similar to Antonia's suggestion ("spider...") when he looked for a similar term (meaning something cross-shaped) in a Bulgarian- (not Greek-) English automotive dictionary.

But then, it's also ΠΙΣΩ. Perhaps it's something to do with the suspension and the wheels.
