This phrase appears on a relatively recent transcript from the University of Athens, under the heading "Registration Information," which also included academic year, date of registration, mode of admission, and registration number. I'm wondering if this refers to courses/credits transferred to the University of Athens from another university? In this case, the answer was "ΜΗΔΕΝ" (none).

You are correct. This usually refers to “recognised study periods” spent at other universities. With the present financial crisis in Greece, many parents cannot afford to pay the rental cost of accommodation for their child to continue to attend a degree course at a university far from the child’s home, and this is causing many students to apply to transfer to a university in or close to their home town.
