Greek to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software image retrieval systems

This term is found in an academic paper about image retrieval systems and I am struggling to translate it in this context - would really appreciate any help! Please note that the client has tried translating some of it, so the source text arrived half in English, half in Greek.

Στόχος ήταν η ταξινόμηση των τιμών της φωτεινότητας των pixel όλων των εικόνων με την χρήση του Fuzzy Classifier Gustafson-Kessel [11] σε 8 κλάσεις. The Gustafson – Kessel is an extension of the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm that deals with this problem by using the covariance matrix in order to detect ellipsoidal classes. Τα κέντρα των κλάσεων που θα προκύψουν θα χρησιμοποιηθούν για να ταξινομήσουν οποιαδήποτε εικόνα εισαχθεί στο σύστημα μετά την εκπαίδευση.
