Discussion

Andreas THEODOROU (asker) May 14, 2006:
hi elena (thanks once again) and others

A side question: is the original phrase synonymous with συμπιεσμενος αερας? I had never come across πεπιεσμενος before but I can see the derivation from πιεzω

Υou're asking me if the original "phrase" is synonymous, however there's a term, but you have not given the whole phrase. Generally speaking, yes, they're the same.

Compressed air is: air at any pressure greater than atmospheric pressure. (This applies to "πεπιεσμένος" and "συμπιεσμένος" as well.

Again, for pressurized (under pressure) we tend to say: υπό πίεση. And "πεπιεσμένος" is the same. Compressing type of pressure, etc.
If you want to give the phrase/text/sentence, I would be happy to look further.
