Discussion

Gisella Giarrusso (asker) May 9, 2012:
Hi Cedric...I worked for one of these companies for 6 years. I think 'gambling' operators still prefer the term 'gaming'. This is purely because the term 'gambling' or 'gambler' can be seen as negative, or unlawful... thanks for your input!
Cedric Randolph May 3, 2012:
Remote gaming or gambling Yes of course - but gaming can include free stuff that has no gambling at all where here gambling is intended so, were I you, I would choose the latter "remote gambling"
Gisella Giarrusso (asker) May 3, 2012:
thanks, however my question is more about how to translate the expression "raccolta del gioco"... would "remote gaming" do?
Dr Lofthouse May 3, 2012:

aprire un ~ commerciale= to start up a business
So I think here 'esercizio' refers to 'practicing' or 'exercising' the business side of a platform for remote gaming - probably some form of financial regulatory requirements are mentioned???

running and remote bet collection for public gambling operations

one way of saying this - the other ? you ask would be "remote bet collection platform" as I see it. However, maybe someone else has a better way of saying this. This is basically what I used when I translated some documents for one of the big Italian gambling companies
