Japanese term

一貫経営

Japanese to English Other Livestock / Animal Husbandry pig farming
In the compound 一貫経営養豚農家. I have a definition from Japan's MAFF, :a farm with one or more sows for breeding and one or more fattening pigs, but I've no idea what the correct term is.

Thanks for everyone's input. I stumbled across the correct term myself in the end: farrow-to-finish operation
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q="Farrow to finish operation...
Yasu Hosomatsu Oct 1, 2007:
'breeder/fattener farm' seems OK. I believe 一貫in this case is used in a similar way as in 一貫教育or一貫作業which is to mean from the beginning to the end (from breeding to...)
Steven Smith (asker) Oct 1, 2007:
I'm now leaning towards 'breeder/fattener farm' based on the MAFF definition. There are breeder farms which breed pigs, fattening farms which fatten them up, and apparently farms which do both.

consistent management

I found this glossary http://www.aafs.or.jp/info/Yougo/JE16.htm
with the entry:
肥育経営及び一貫経営(豚) ひいくけいえいおよびいっかんけいえい(ぶた) Fattening, Consistent management

Regards
Note from asker:
I found that one too, but I don't think it sounds right, given that 'consistent management' is such an ordinary, commonly used term anyway. Still, it might be. Hard to filter out the irrelevant hits in google!

I don't know if this is suitable for your situation, but I think that it may be possible. What do you think?
