Japanese term
ニッケル混合メッキ
Japanese to English
Other
Metallurgy / Casting
This just appears as one cell in an Excel sheet, along with other words like casting, forging, etc. It doesn't say what the plating is to be used on.
ニッケル=nickel
メッキ=plating
but, I am not sure how to synthesize these with the middle word... my first guess for the whole phrase would be nickel alloy plating. But, I am not sure if ニッケル混合 100% equates to ニッケル合金。

nickel alloy plating
I have checked and find many websites with many types of nickel alloy plating using nickel mixed with palladium, zinc, tin, chromium, cobalt, etc. Using alloys may be stronger than using a plain nickel plating.
Palladium nickel alloy plating
Zinc nickel alloy plating
tin nickel alloy plating
etc.
Example sentence:
Nickel alloys with 22 pct chromium can be prepared by co-depositing chromium carbide particles with nickel and heat treating for 24 hours at 1800F in hydrogen. Alloy hardness after heat treatment is 223 HV, compared with 55 HV for similarly treated plain nickel.

I think you were correct with your original feelings about the translation. Since the nickel is being mixed "混合" with another metal, I think it equates to a ニッケル合金.

nickel plating / nickel mixed plating
First of all, it seems that the phrase "ニッケル混合メッキ" itself is not commonly used. "ニッケルめっき" is more natural, I think. If you really want to stick to "ニッケル混合メッキ" then you could say "nickel mixed plating" I guess. Hope this will be helpful to you.

Nickel-mixed plating
There is one hit in the patent filed. It seems. (google exact "nickel mixed plating".)
1. Nickel alloy plating
I think this should be okay too.
2 ニッケル混合
Google this as 'exact' phrase, you get it shows up in the form of 'liquid' and so on. In various forms, various purposes and usages. So if it's critical, you do need to ask the client about what exactly it is.
2.2. Nickel-mixed: google exact: some cases show up. But it's not really convincing. But if you just have to fill in something so-so appropriate and can get away with it -
"Nickel-mixed plating" should pass...

I believe that 'mix' modifies nickel.

The difference between 合金 and 混合 is that the first one is registered and patetented internationally as an alloy whereas the latter one is a provisional mixture of metals for specific purposes.
