Another expression is wholemeal - but it is mostly used in the UK and sometimes regarded as slightly old-fashioned.

An American alternative is Graham or graham flour (see reference)

I personally like \'wholemeal\', which is what we always baked with at home when we were tired of \'Mother\'s Pride\', and my father aged 84 still does! The \'meal\' part of the word is derived from the same ancient linguistic roots as \'mel\'...

agree Pia Walker : In these days of allergies, one has to take care what one is calling food product - I would go with wholemeal - as it does not denote any particular kind of grain.

agree Richard Lawson : I agree with Pia & Vedis - wholemeal. You can buy sammalt rug, bygg, havre, etc. as well as hvete.
