employment verification letter
Employment Verification Letter
An employment verification letter is an official document printed by a company on its letterhead stating that a specific person, in whose name the employment verification letter is printed, is an employee of the company. The person in whose the name the letter is printed should be an employee of a company according to the definition of 'employee' in the country in which the employee is working. It is similar to a reference letter.

Once an employee starts work for an employer they have entered into a contract of employment. This contract does not necessarily have to be written down, however, most employees are entitled to be given a *** written statement *** within two months of commencing work. This statement should contain particulars of the employment, and the employee should not be refused a statement if they make a request for one.
