creditors subject to time-bar

released debtors
"[A] release of one or more joint debtors extinguishes the obligation of any of the remaining joint debtors to pay so much of the debt as was deemed paid by the released debtor. That is to say, the release does not affect the liability of the remaining joint debtor, except as to the balance of the obligation." http://www.cobar.org/opinions/opinion.cfm?OpinionID=4827
"A debtor is only released if the deed provides for the debtor’s release. A composition may provide for acceptance by creditors of payment in full or in part of the debtor’s debts by lump sum or by instalments in full and final satisfaction of the debtor’s claims. The creditors release the debtor on the passing of the special resolution accepting the composition." http://www.forsythes.com.au/default.asp?/acc_insolv_pers.asp
to release = to relieve or free from obligation, liability, or responsibility <the debtor is released from all dischargeable debts> Merriam-Webster Dictionary of Law, © 1996 Merriam-Webster, Inc.
