Будьте первым, как Филипп Найт, *и остальные за вами потянутся*
Another marketing thing to be considered. The author is referring us to Nike corporation history with the key principle of biz prospering (due to Filipp Knight, the founder) which can be put like "always be the first/#1!).
Please mind, that "potianuts'ia" in itself has a spec. connotation for its a part of русской поговорки "будьте проще, и к вам потянутся"

: My thoughts exactly.
You know what they say about great minds. "They work alike."

... and the others will follow you
As to connotation, I'm not sure that it's present in this very context, as here we have "за вами" and not "к вам". And in this way it would not be very clear why you are to be No. 1 - if you are surrounded by friends (according to connotation) that doesn't mean you get success, and if you are followed by others it means that you are the leader and No. 1 for those who follow you.

and others will follow you
and others will follow your example
and others will strive to be alike

I do agree with VooDooMooRt - it sounds better without the ending "you".
Still, I'd go with "...and others will follow"
and others will strive to be alike

Discussion
что-то вроде the example you set will be appealing or attractive to others и will follow you, will become your supporters, resp.
Да и не поговорка это вовсе, а так, присловье, выражение, вставляемое в речь для цветистости словес и кудрявости смысла
