Process plant terminology
I'm translating a glossary so not much context except for the fact that the overall theme is a large-scale chemical production plant.
For each term I have been given 2 or 3 context example sentences:
"Comprobar el nivel de depósito de sello"
"Si el nivel es bajo el sello podría ser dañado, rellenar el depósito de sello y anotarlo en el sistema de ordenes de trabajo."
"ver O2 purge type 2 XXXXXXXXX regula el nivel en el depósito de sello." (XXXXXXX = apparatus code)
The last appears to be half a sentence...
MOST PROBLEMATIC is the second example - the first 'sello' appears to be an everyday 'seal' - my doubt is if "deposito de sello" is a type of oil / air deposit which the seal use to function then why not "deposito DEL sello" ???

sealed tank / certified tank.
From the context you quote, it seems that there is a tank (I see it as analogous to a "sealed" header tank" in concept, although the tank may be a "header" or many other, non apparent here.
If I am right here, the original should say "depósito precintado" instead.
One other possibility is that they refer to a vessel (usually pressure/pressure-temperature vessel which is rated to a set of given values and then inspected and CERTIFIED for the given rating.

This IS strange indeed -and I would add, wrong as well; should be as you say- but then, Engineers able to write worth a damn are quite rare under the sky...
If I am right here, the original should say "depósito precintado" instead.

What about "sealing tank"? I don't think it can be a "sealed tank", as that would normally be translated into Spanish as "depósito sellado", not "de sello".
I think this option fits well in the three examples you provided.
