Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (3): Сергей Лузан, Marina Soldati, Cinnamon Nolan

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Chris Ellison Dec 10, 2008:
Italics I know it's difficult to show on this system so I may be preaching to the converted... but don't forget Genus (Hypolagus) capitalised and in italics (that also goes for the order (Lagomorpha) the family (leporidae) and the subfamily (Archaeolaginae). No capitalisation of species names tho... ;)
RichardDeegan Dec 10, 2008:
Heck of a greeting/conversation. What makes you think this is Non-Pro???

For anybody reading this who is ignorant as I am about this subject:

ag·o·morph (lg-môrf)
n.
Any of various plant-eating mammals having fully furred feet and two pairs of upper incisors and belonging to the order Lagomorpha, which includes the rabbits, hares, and pikas.

Having said that, I think my suggestion for a translation is pretty much spot on!!

No problem, I didn't know either until I actually looked it up. And yes, I did realize that Dice was the name of the person involved - when I found the reference that is.
Peer comment(s):

agree Chris Ellison : OK, but has to be Hypolagus, Dice 1917 (i.e.Genus name in italics and Dice is the bloke who reassigned the genus in 1917, it's not a species name or anything.) HTH :)

Thanks :-)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks, My fault, I only had the description in caps, thus I thought that "DICE" was not the person who named it but "says" in Spanish or some obscure tecnical reference. Thanks for your help on this embarrassing boner."
