Again from a difficult academic text (not my last one...). This seems self-evident, but I'm not happy, it does not seem right to talk about second nature in this context. Suggestions welcome!

Rather than using second nature, I am thinking something more like 'completely instinctive'; but I'm wondering if he's using it in some entirely different sense that I cannot trace.

Your context of Philosophy/Marxist economoy and social change certainly suggests that Lorena's reading of "segunda naturaleza" is the right one here. First and second nature are commonly used terms in Marxist theory and it would be entirely reasonable to assume that your reader would be familiar with them and not confuse "second nature" with the colloquial usage. You could always use a footnote and/or quotation marks if you felt the term needed explanation.

1) nueva dimensión applies to both: de la realidad and de la segunda naturaleza = nueva dimensión de la segunda naturaleza.
2) In this case I believe that the author is making reference to cultura/eticidad which is known as "la segunda naturaleza".
