Spanish term

área de distribution

Spanish to English Science Zoology
Los días 11 y 12 visitaremos los Parques Nacionales de Esteros de Iberá y de Mburucuyá. Esta área es particularmente buena para algunas rapaces como el Cuervo Cabeza Amarilla.
También es un buen lugar para algunas especies escasas en otras áreas de distribución como el Yetapá de Collar.

Is that not a paraphrase to because they are already speaking of the range? I translated a large volume for Conservation International, and "range" was the translation the scientist editors used for "area de distrubucion"
Mariana Font (asker) Dec 10, 2007:

habitat

A habitat (which is Latin for "it inhabits") is an ecological or environmental area that is inhabited by a particular species.

Etymology: Latin, it inhabits, from habitare
1: the place or environment where a plant or animal naturally or normally lives and grows
2: the place where something is commonly found

As I know it.
