Source text - English Dual rotor single inverter and single stator PMSM for HEVs Abstract The actual e - continuously variable transmission (e-CVT) solution for the parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) requires two electric machines, two inverters, and a planetary gear. A distinct electric generator and a propulsion electric motor, both with full power converters, are typical for a series HEV. In an effort to simplify the planetary-geared e-CVT for the parallel HEV or the series HEV we hereby propose to replace the basically two electric machines and their two power converters by a single, axial-air-gap, electric machine central stator, fed from a single PWM converter with dual frequency voltage output and two independent PM rotors. This chapter introduces a novel brushless, single winding and single stator, dual PM rotor axial-air-gap machine capable to deliver independently torque at the two rotors by adequate vector control. It is presented the preliminary designing with Matlab, quasi 3D and 3D FEM analysis and validation, the optimal design via Hooke Jeeves method and control of a synchronous machine with axial airgap single stator dual-rotor with permanent surface magnets and different pole pairs number, destined for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) applications. For machine’s designing was used the equivalent magnetic circuits method that takes into account the saturation and dispersion of the magnetic field. The control model is developed for a single inverter that produces three phase output voltage with two frequencies components; the torque current for each rotor is controlled through the stator current that passes the two serial windings. The machine, coupled with the thermal engine (ICE), can operate as starter for short time at start-up and as generator, when the rotational speed is established by the thermal engine’s regulator. The other machine can operate as motor in wide speed range (both inferior and superior to the generator’s), but also in generator regime with power recovery at braking. In addition it is proposes a single stator dual rotor PMSM for HEV drive-system with two distinct stator windings in  connection, four leg inverter and two capacitors connected in series, with Field Oriented Control new solution. The four leg inverter that drives the two rotors should result in additional reliability and compactness through at the cost of addition kVA rating. The A and B phases of both machines are connected to dedicated legs whereas C phase of both machines is connected to the neutral point of the two-split capacitors. The standard PWM technique in three-phase voltage source inverters is not directly applicable because only two phases may be modulated. So, a dedicated PWM strategy that reduces the capacitor middle point voltage pulsations is introduced and “tested” through extensive digital results. Un generator electric distinct şi un motor electric propulsor, ambele prevăzute cu convertoare de putere maximă, sunt tipice pentru un vehicul HEV de serie. În efortul de a simplifica transmisia e-CVT deservită de planetare pentru HEV paralel sau pentru HEV de serie, noi propunem aici înlocuirea celor două maşini electrice de fond şi a celor două convertoare de putere aferente printr-o singură maşină electrică, cu întrefier axial şi stator central, alimentată de la un singur convertor PWM cu ieşire de tensiune în frecvenţă dublă şi două rotoare independente PM. Acest capitol prezintă o nouă mono-înfăşurare fără perii şi un stator unic, maşina cu rotor PM dublu şi întrefier axial, care furnizează cuplu mecanic independent la cele două rotoare, printr-un control vectorial adecvat. Proiectul preliminar este prezentat cu Matlab, quasi 3D şi analiză 3D FEM cu validare, proiectul optim este prin metoda Hooke Jeeves, controlul unei maşini sincrone cu mono-stator şi rotor dublu, întrefier axial, magneţi cu suprafeţe permanente şi număr diferit de perechi de poli, fiind destinate aplicaţiilor la vehiculele electrice hibride (HEV). Pentru proiectarea maşinii s-a folosit metoda circuitelor magnetice echivalente care ia în considerare saturaţia şi dispersia câmpului magnetic. Modelul de control/comandă este elaborat pentru un singur redresor care produce tensiune trifazică de ieşire cu două componente de frecvenţă; curentul de cuplu pentru fiecare rotor este controlat printr-un curent de stator care pune în fază cele două înfăşurări în serie. Maşina, cuplată cu motorul termic (ICE), poate funcţiona drept demaror pentru scurt timp la pornire şi ca generator, când viteza de rotaţie este stabilită de către regulatorul termic al motorului. Cealaltă maşină poate funcţiona drept motor pe o gamă largă de viteze (atât inferioare cât şi superioare celei a generatorului), dar şi în regim de generator cu recuperare de putere la frânare. În plus, este propus un singur rotor dublu PMSM cu mono-stator pentru sistemul de antrenare HEV cu două înfăşurări distincte la sator legate în , redresor cu patru borne şi două condensatoare conectate în serie, cu o nouă soluţie pentru Control Orientat spre Câmp. Redresorul cu patru borne care acţionează cele două rotoare ar trebui să creeze o fiabilitate şi un grad de compactare suplimentare pe seama unui plus de kVA. Fazele A şi B ale ambelor maşini sunt conectate la borne rezervate lor, iar faza C de la ambele maşini este conectată la punctual neutru ale condensatoarelor cu două compartimente. Tehnica PWM standard la redresoarele-sursă de tensiune trifazică nu est aplicabilă în mod direct deoarece numai două faze pot fi modulate. Aşadar, este introdusă o strategie PWM dedicată care reduce pulsaţiile punctului de mijloc ale tensiunii de la condensatoare, aceasta fiind “testată” prin rezultate digitale extensive.
