I am first and foremost a native Croatian speaker and have been living and working in Croatia my whole life. I am also a life-long speaker of English and as such I am quite well-versed in the spirit of the language, able to appropriately follow syntax, grammatical rules and translate phrases and idioms. The attestation to my English skills is the Cambridge English Level 3 (Proficiency) Certificate. Additionally, I am currently in my third year of teaching in the English language, following the Cambridge IGCSE program (History and Geography). Finally, I am an avid consumer of media made in the English language, which I do on a daily basis, always finding new ways to expand my vocabulary and enhance my knowledge of English.
I possess certain experience in translating already, acquired through voluntary, self-initiated projects. Years ago, I took it onto myself to provide Croatian subtitles for the YouTube educational series Crash Course: World History. I provided subtitles for the first fifteen videos of the series.
More recently I started doing the same for the YouTube channel Overly Sarcastic Productions, as a part of their Community Captions initiative, using the amara.org website.
I have also been providing English translation of Croatian texts for the Facebook page Upoznajmo Hrvatsku for the past few years. I am more officially attached to this project and have also contributed to it with some posts of my own.
